Remember Reggie Brown?

Posted under eagles

i don’t. this guy hasn’t “brought it” since, um, ever. he is a starting wide receiver for the philadelphia eagles. i had the unlucky pleasure of drafting/picking-up this guy in my fantasy football league, either this past year or the previous (see what i mean about remembering this guy?). he sucked.

well he was interviewed today on sirius NFL radio today by adam shine and solomon wilcox. i’ll give you a little review of what this guy had to say.

brown said that eagles quarterback donavon mcnabb’s shoulder is doing alright. the team has had mcnabb resting it more than anything else. he related it to how a baseball pitcher will only throw so many pitches to spare his arm.

brown was asked what he needed to do to take his game to the next level. brown responded by stating that he needs to get off to a good start this season. adding to it, he said that he wants to keep his consistency up because he normally comes on good at the end of the season.

when asked about the status of lito shepard, brown responded by saying that he’s not sure about shepard staying with the team. shepard was working out at the first mini camp, looking great.

brown, dude, you didn’t tell us anything that we as fans didn’t already know. come on man, bring us something. bring us some game this season. i understand that you had a career high 61 receptions last year, but bro, only 4 TD’s w/ less than 800 yrds (that’s less than an avg of 50 yrds a game my friend)?

guess i would feel worse if i were an eagles fan.

Chad Johnson and Surgery?

Posted under bengals, injuries

what the hell, chad? injured on the first day of mandatory camp? are you serious?

sounds like conspiracy to me. now he can keep his pay check, and he doesn’t even have to participate. umm. but didn’t you want to be traded, chad? i hope he realizes that he ain’t/can’t find a trade deal while awaiting surgery.

here’s an overview of what i heard over the radio from a cincinnati reporter:

chad did show up to camp this morning, but denied to speak with the media. he participated in a few minor/individual drill in uniform; no team drills. reports say that after the morning workout he visited with the trainers with speculation of an ankle injury, w/possible surgery being discussed.

carson palmer, cincinnati’s qb, was asked to comment on chad. he kindly denied saying that he didn’t want to talk about it.

Happy Go Lucky Romo

Posted under 08 season predictions, cowboys, fantasy football

Check out the following interview of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (courtesy NFL.com):

I know you fantasy football players need my advice. Romo = top fantasy point producing quarterback for the 08 NFL season. Tell all your friends (that aren’t in your league of course). Romo won’t have any problems putting up 4000 - 4400 yrds w/32-38 TDs, <20 INT’s. He is going to receive a huge contribution from a new consistency in the offense this year. With the releasing of Julius Jones, Marion Barber will be the primary running back. No more of this one back gets a series on offense, the other back gets the next. I’m not saying two back systems don’t work, but a team has to have their primary guy. And now that the Cowboys do, expect more continuity and rhythm in each progressing offensive series.
